Invisalign in Kota Kinabalu
Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners — no metal brackets, and barely noticeable. As a recognised braces & Invisalign provider in Likas, FTS Chin Dental offers Invisalign guided by Dr. Esther Tan.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a system of custom-made clear plastic aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. Each set nudges your teeth a little closer to straight, and you swap to the next set every week or two. Because the aligners are see-through and removable, most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them — and you take them out to eat, brush and floss as normal.
How treatment works, step by step
- A consultation to check your teeth are suited to Invisalign and to plan the movement.
- We take digital scans or impressions, and your custom aligners are made from them.
- You wear each set for about 20–22 hours a day, changing to the next on schedule.
- Quick check-ups let us make sure everything is tracking as planned.
- A retainer at the end holds your straightened smile in place.
Will it hurt?
There are no wires or brackets to rub, so Invisalign is gentle. Expect light pressure for a day or two when you start a new set — a good sign the aligner is working. It eases quickly, and we’re always here if anything feels off.
Invisalign is priced per case — the fee depends on how much your teeth need to move and how many aligners that takes. Message us on WhatsApp for a clear estimate before anything begins. We won’t invent a number, and treatment only starts once you’re comfortable with the cost.

Invisalign vs Braces
Braces are fixed to your teeth and can correct almost any case, including complex bite problems, while Invisalign uses clear removable aligners that are nearly invisible and easy to clean. Braces cost less and need no discipline to work; Invisalign looks better and is more comfortable but only suits mild to moderate cases and relies on you wearing them 20–22 hours a day. The right choice depends on your case, your budget, and your lifestyle.

There's no single price for braces (pendakap gigi) in Kota Kinabalu — the cost depends on your case, the type of braces, and how long treatment takes. Metal braces are the most affordable option, ceramic sits in the middle, and clear aligners like Invisalign cost the most. At FTS Chin Dental we quote your exact fee after an assessment, and most patients pay in monthly instalments.

Is this right for you?
Every mouth is different. Clear aligner treatment may not be appropriate for every patient, and any treatment is conditional on a satisfactory clinical assessment being carried out first. Our dentist will examine you, explain your options, and tell you honestly if a different treatment — or no treatment — would serve you better. The information on this page is general and is not a diagnosis or a substitute for a consultation.
