Tooth Extraction & Wisdom Teeth in Kota Kinabalu
When a tooth is too damaged to save, or a wisdom tooth is causing pain, a gentle extraction (cabut gigi) brings relief. FTS Chin Dental in Likas removes teeth comfortably under local anaesthetic — with painless, honest care.
When is a tooth extraction needed?
We always try to save a natural tooth first. But sometimes a tooth is too badly decayed, broken or infected to repair — or a wisdom tooth is impacted, crowding its neighbours or causing repeated pain. In those cases, removing it is the kindest thing for your comfort and the health of the rest of your mouth. It’s a routine treatment we do gently and safely.
What to expect at your visit
- We examine the tooth — often with an X-ray for wisdom teeth — and explain your options.
- The area is fully numbed with local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure but not pain.
- The tooth is removed carefully, taking our time to keep you comfortable.
- We give you clear, simple aftercare to help the socket heal well.
- If you’d like, we can discuss replacing the tooth later with a bridge or denture.
Will it hurt?
The extraction itself shouldn’t hurt — the anaesthetic does its job. Mild tenderness for a day or two afterwards is normal and easily managed with painkillers. Many of our patients tell us the visit was far easier than they feared.
Extraction fees depend on the tooth and how straightforward the removal is — a simple extraction costs less than an impacted wisdom tooth. Message us on WhatsApp for a clear estimate before anything begins. We won’t invent a number, and treatment only starts once you know the cost.

Is this right for you?
Every mouth is different. Tooth extraction may not be appropriate for every patient, and any treatment is conditional on a satisfactory clinical assessment being carried out first. Our dentist will examine you, explain your options, and tell you honestly if a different treatment — or no treatment — would serve you better. The information on this page is general and is not a diagnosis or a substitute for a consultation.
